Owner + Speech Language Pathologist

Hello! My name is Kharyl and I am a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and the owner of Sampaguita Speech Therapy. I have dedicated years to working with children of all ages and backgrounds. After receiving my bachelor’s degree, I worked as an ethnic studies educator, a special education paraprofessional, and an early interventionist. I then continued my education and earned my master’s degree to become a speech language pathologist. Prior to starting my private practice, I worked in early intervention, public schools, and outpatient clinics serving children birth through adolescent.

I love building genuine connections and relationships with my clients and love helping them become effective and confident communicators. My experience has shaped me into the educator, advocate, and speech language pathologist you see today! 

Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology from California State University East Bay

  • Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Counseling and Asian American Studies from San Francisco State University

  • American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certified

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence

  • California State License

Sampaguita [saam-puh-gee-tuh] is the national flower of the Philippines. Sampaguita originates from the Filipino words sumpa kita, meaning “I promise you”.

Sampaguitas symbolize love, dedication, commitment, and hope.
